The journey began when I first heard the new Kenny Garrett and Jonathan Blake albums, which were released around the same time . Both albums resonated with me as they were similar to the style of writing that I was embarking on at the time. I have always been a fan of Kenny Garrett and my dream would be to record or perform with him. Jonathan Blake is one of the up and coming drummers of our time and his drumming style is relaxed and precise, something that I aspire to achieve.

Written to acknowledge the influence of my mentor Archie Alleyne. Archie’s swing time was the envy of all and is brush work was amazing and inspiring. Archie was a great human being, educator, mentor to the black musicians in Toronto and all around great human being.
